Meet Our Team

I wear many hats and, when not taking care of my massage patients, generally run around like a chicken with my head cut off.  Ala does her best to control that (or at least keep me from running into walls).  In addition to being a massage therapist and budding aromatherapist, I handle our online scheduling system, our website, marketing and some boring operational stuff.  I am very blessed to have survived in a tough industry for over a decade and even more fortunate to have the best patients and staff that anyone could ever ask for.  As my professional dreams become more of a reality every day, I know that all the hard work and sacrifice has absolutely been worth it.  If you're reading this, thank you for being a part of it!

Education:  Massage Therapy Certificate, Lansing Community College, Lansing, MI; B.A. (Advertising), Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI

Experience:  4 years

Started at HHMWC:  April 2016

Areas of Specialty:  "Desk jockeys" (intense computer users), chronic and repetitive pain management

Modalities:  Therapeutic, Swedish, Trigger Point Therapy, Positional Release and a little of Thai Table Massage

I'm a LMT because... I believe Massage Therapy has the ability to help & heal people on many levels; whether it's from simple human touch, to a relaxing stress relieving massage, to therapeutic work which focuses on specific muscle imbalance issues. For me, I get a deep sense of satisfaction and gratitude at being able to help others relax, or lessen or eliminate their pain, and help them get their bodies back in balance -- mind, body, spirit in alignment.

Education:  B.A. (Movement Science), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI; D.C., National University of Health Sciences, Pinellas Park, FL

Experience:  2 years

Started at HHC:  May 2017

Modalities:  Diversified Technique, Activator and Thompson Drop adjusting methods

I'm a Chiropractor because... I originally was Pre-Med while an undergrad at U of M.  During my junior year of college, I worked as hospital volunteer in Ghana, Africa.  Through this volunteer program, I was exposed to alternative health professions that focused on holistic approaches to help and heal patients.  These alternative approaches to medicine greatly appealed to me and I knew this was the kind of healthcare I wanted to practice.  So, instead of heading to med school, I went to chiropractic school.  I am happy every day that I made the switch.

Areas of Specialty:  Chronic pain, headaches, necks and  glutes

I'm a LMT because... I worked in an office slumped over a desk for many years.  My back ached constantly and I knew I didn't want that for the rest of my life.  It took me about five years to figure out how to find the time to complete a massage therapy program, but I finally took the leap and have never looked back.  All these years later, I am still amazed how rewarding a career in massage therapy is; it is truly a pleasure and an honor to help people feel better and understand their bodies more!

I'm a part of Health & Harmony... I believe whole-heartedly in the healing power of chiropractic care and massage therapy.  I love being a part of something so powerful and positive and I get to watch miracles happen every day!  We have assembled the best team around to care for YOU and I am happy to be a part of it!

Harmony Naturals was born from the belief that part of creating a healthy environment for ourselves and families means using products on our skin and in our homes that support our body’s biology (in other words, things our bodies naturally understand).  We feel passionately about this idea and we have each worked towards incorporating this belief into our own homes (and Kim into her massage therapy practice).  Both Kim and Lindsay dabbled in aromatherapy over the years, as we each knew essential oils are very versatile but hadn’t done much with them in recent years.  The blessing and curse known as Pinterest, reignited our interest in aromatherapy!  Kim dusted off her old books and starting taking online courses to feed her knowledge.  Lindsay began devouring all the information she could find on essential oils.  Living in different states, each of us were busy creating our own blends and recipes and comparing notes but, we always talked about someday starting a business together.  They deeper we both went into research, we kept finding a dirty little secret over and over again… natural products are really over-priced (and not always very natural)!  We thought we could do better and when Kim decided to open her new massage therapy office, the perfect opportunity presented itself.  As misers, entrepreneurs and essential oil lovers, we knew it was time to create our own line of products.  Lindsay relocated to join Kim in Lansing and Harmony Naturals was born.  Kim is in the process of creating a really helpful website to pair with versatile, useful and safe products so that a healthier and more natural way of life can become an affordable reality for more people.
