Set it down for a minute.
It's been a year, hasn't it.
Not any one thing — just all of it, at once. The prices. The headlines nobody asked for. The low, constant hum of keep it together, keep going, don't stop. You've been carrying it the way most of us do — quietly, and for a long time, with nowhere good to set it down.
Here's the part nobody says out loud: you don't have to carry it every minute. Not because any of it is solved — it isn't — but because no one was built to hold all of it without ever setting it down. You're allowed to put it down now, right in the middle of everything, and pick it back up later. It isn't going anywhere.
The email can sit unread for an hour. The call can go to voicemail. The dishes will still be there. The group chat will survive without you. You can sit in the car a few extra minutes before you walk in — engine off, radio off — and just not be needed by anyone for a little while. None of it falls apart. It only feels like it might, because you've been the one holding all of it for so long.
So set it down. Whatever "it" is today, put it on the floor and let your hands be empty for a bit. Breathe out slower than you breathed in. The quiet you remember is still in there — closer than you think.
That's all. Go easy today.
