Body Tempering

Body Tempering isn’t soft, fluffy, or subtle — and that’s exactly why it works.

This technique uses heavy, controlled pressure to break through stubborn tension, improve mobility, and help your muscles reset in a way traditional methods can’t touch. If you’re looking for real change, you’re in the right place.

Muscle Magic: Body Tempering Benefits

Body Tempering uses heavy steel rollers to apply slow, controlled pressure across the muscles. These rollers vary in weight and are selected based on the area being treated—lighter for smaller or more sensitive areas, and heavier for larger muscle groups like the glutes, hamstrings, and back.

In massage therapy, pressure is typically applied in smaller, more focused areas using hands, forearms, or elbows. Body Tempering takes a different approach—applying consistent, evenly distributed pressure across a broader section of muscle at once.

That sustained pressure helps reduce excessive muscle tone, mobilize the layers of muscle and fascia, and improve how the tissue moves and responds. It’s commonly used to improve range of motion, reduce soreness, and address areas of restriction that can limit performance or contribute to discomfort.

During your session, your therapist works through larger muscle groups like the legs, back, and shoulders using the weighted rollers. The pressure is deep, steady, and intentional—helping ease tightness, improve mobility, and restore more natural movement.

This style of work is especially popular with CrossFit athletes and weightlifters who regularly push their bodies and deal with lingering soreness or stiffness from training.

It’s also a great fit for people who train hard in other ways—whether that’s running, cycling, group fitness classes, or consistently challenging workouts in the gym.

And for those who spend long hours at a desk, Body Tempering helps address the dense, built-up tension that develops in the back, shoulders, and hips from prolonged sitting.

Each session begins with Body Tempering and is followed immediately by 30 minutes of Red Light Therapy.

After the muscles have been worked, Red Light Therapy helps reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and support cellular repair. It enhances recovery, reduces post-treatment soreness, and helps your body make better use of the work you just received.

Red Light Therapy helps your body recover from it.

If you’re looking for deeper, more direct work—and you want your body to respond differently afterward—this is a strong place to start.

Body Tempering offers powerful benefits, but it’s not appropriate for everyone. If any of the following contraindications apply, this service is not suitable for you.

  • Recent fractures or severe bone injuries

  • Open wounds or infections in the treatment area

  • Severe osteoporosis or fragile bones

  • Severe vascular conditions or blood clotting disorders

  • Pregnancy, especially in high-risk cases

  • Recent surgery, particularly in the treated area

  • Severe inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis

  • Neurological disorders affecting sensation or muscle control

  • Severe pain or discomfort during previous sessions

  • History of thrombosis or embolism

Additionally, Body Tempering involves intense pressure; if deep tissue massage isn't tolerable for you, this technique probably isn't for you.
